Built to work for everyone.

Many of the people we support are non-speaking, autistic, or have an intellectual disability. An accessible website is not an extra for us; it is the point. This page explains the standard we work to, what we have built, and how to tell us when something is not working for you.

The standard we work to

We aim for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We test with keyboard-only navigation, screen readers, zoomed layouts and reduced-motion settings, and we treat accessibility problems as defects to fix, not suggestions to consider.

What is built in

  • Accessibility settings panel: the wheelchair button in the menu opens tools to adjust text size, letter spacing, line height and text alignment, switch to a dyslexia-friendly font, simplify the layout, have pages read aloud, and look up plain-language definitions.
  • Keyboard access: every menu, form, and control can be reached and operated with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator and a skip-to-content link.
  • Reduced motion: if your device asks for reduced motion, animations are switched off and content appears immediately.
  • Readable by design: colour contrast meets WCAG AA, images have text descriptions, and pages keep working at 200% zoom and on small screens.
  • Your settings stay yours: accessibility preferences are saved in your own browser and are never sent to us.

Known limitations

Our capability statement is also offered as a PDF, which may not read as smoothly with a screen reader as the pages on this site. If you need its contents in another format, contact us and we will provide it in a way that works for you.

Our printed reference sheets set some text smaller than we would choose: 9.4pt for body copy, 7.9pt for registration codes, and 8pt for our ABN. That is so each sheet fits on one page, because a two-page handout often goes unread. We know it is a trade-off and that it does not suit everyone. A large-print version of any of them, set at 11pt across two pages, is available on request at no cost and without needing to explain why. Email or call us and we will send it.
